Hahahaha. Well how about I show you the process so you can tap into it for yourself every day and then share it with anyone you’d like to share it with anytime you feel like it, or when it’s requested from you? Feel it for yourself and you will know.
When the idea of this blog post came to me, I wondered what methods others out there were using to explain how to send love or send ‘love and light’ as I found to be the most popular saying on the internet. There’s a lot of beautiful Wicken's out there trying to spread the love. Thank you lovelies....although there were a lot of articles coming from a great place of trying to get people to understand that until they cleared up their own energy then they shouldn’t be sending it to anyone else. This is true for obvious reasons, but each article that I read had an underlying tone that there was a set process to this and you needed to complete this marathon obstacle course before you could centre yourself and clear up your own energy…...back to the eye rolling and the flicking with just a little less self-worth than you had before, smeared with another repulsive layer of guilt. Nice. Just another shovel of shit to wade through.
So let me clear this little misconception up, clearing your energy does NOT take a lot of time and when you practice a little, it becomes easier and easier. It can be easy the first time depending on how much of a tantrum your mind throws when it realises you’re breaking through to love. Lol. You'll see what I mean. It is simple and easy and a beautiful process that anyone can do within 5 minutes. So stop your scrolling past as if you have nothing of worth to give. You are more than enough, you have all the love you need already inside you. Stop looking around the house under pillows and in the cupboards for that love you think you’ve lost somewhere. It’s not out there, it’s within you where it has always been. You’ve just forgotten it’s there because all the shit life has shovelled on top of it. (Shovelling the shit off is a process, but accessing that love through the shit is easier)

Let's get started.
Feeling the love for yourself
This meditation/visualisation is part of Mindfulness of the Open Heart – the first step is to open your heart and feel that love for yourself before visualising that same feeling enveloping the person you’re sending that love to.
◊ Make yourself comfortable and bring your attention to the breath. Observe the breath going in and the breath going out. As thoughts come, let them go and return your attention to the breath.
◊ Now observe the breath as it moves in the chest. Be aware of the chest expanding and contracting, as you breathe in and as you breathe out.
◊ Just for a few moments, bring up one or both hands to rest on your chest. This is your heart centre, inside at the spine. Observe the breath as you breathe into your heart.
◊ Keep breathing into the field of your heart. As thoughts come, just keep returning your observation to the breath without judgement.
◊ Now think of a time when you were really happy, truly yourself and totally at peace with the world. It might have been when you were a child or sometime later in life. Remember this feeling, magnify this feeling, as you continue to breathe into your heart.
◊ Try to give this feeling a name. What will you call this emotion you’d love to have with you forever? It might be love, happiness, peace or compassion. It might be confidence, trust, tenderness or gratitude. Choose a name we use to lock this feeling into your heart. Keep returning your attention to the breath as you breathe into your heart.
◊ Now each time you breathe in, begin saying to yourself, ‘I breathe in (this feeling)’. And use the name you have chosen before. If it is joy, you’ll say, ‘I breathe in joy’; if it is love, you’ll be saying, ‘I breathe in love’; if it is peace, you will be saying, ‘I breathe in peace’.
◊ Now use the same word on the out breath. Breathe in, ‘I breathe in (this feeling)’ on the out breath, ‘I breathe out (this feeling)’. Being mindful that there is no separation between the air you’re breathing in and the air that you’re breathing out. You are not letting this emotion leave you, it is just a cycle of the breath and all breath is this emotion.
◊ Each time you repeat your heart-prayer, it becomes more powerful in its effect on bringing you into a peaceful mind and open heart.
At this point you will feel this wonderful emotion that is activating your heart to open, your heart WILL be open and you will be able to feel when the moment is right for you to begin visualising the person you would like to send this beautiful energy to. Please remember that when I say sending this energy, I don’t mean that you will have any less. I’ll show you.
◊ Keep returning your attention to the breath. Keep breathing into the heart centre, repeating your own heart-prayer.
◊ When you are ready, visualise the person you would like to send this energy to in full detail. Try and make them as real as you can. If they are far away you can visualise them standing right in front of you if its easier, it’s their energy that you are conjuring up, not the distance between you.
◊ Now visualise this person being surrounded by the same energy that is emanating from you. If it helps, you can visualise the energy as a colour surrounding them. Put a half smile on your face and picture them with one as you look at each other. (Or if that is a difficult thing depending on the situation, picture the both of you with your eyes closed with half smiles) Sit with this image for as long as you can. If you would like, you could reach out and hold that person’s hand so you’re connected if this helps.
◊ Just before you finish, if you are holding hands, unhook them and say goodbye. This is a very important step as continuing an energetic connection with this person is not within yours or that persons best interest. Allow that person to follow their own path and allow yourself to move on your path without any energetic interference. If you're a parent you may have recognised that if you're having a bad day, no matter how much you can pretend to the kids, they start playing up instantly because they can feel your energy. Your partner may become more difficult at the end of a hard day for an unexplainable reason because energetic turmoil creates more turmoil. So disconnect yourself from this person you've been sending energy too so you can both be free.
See? Simple! You can do this exercise for yourself any time you are feeling like you need to connect to the breath and find your inner centre of love, peace and compassion.
A super short version after you have had a little practise
◊ Sit with your back reasonably straight, free your hands, close your eyes, head slightly lowered, one hand on your heart if you wish.
◊ Breathe in, ‘I breathe in love’.
◊ Breathe out, ‘I breathe out love’.
◊ Focus on your breath and continue to focus on your breath when thoughts come in. Let them come, observe them and then let them go and get back to concentrating on the breath.
The mind likes to insist that it can do more than one task at a time. Yes it can, but with this, doing more than concentrating on breathing in love and breathing out love, doesn't get you to the state of feeling that you're looking for.
You can do this any time of day to bring you back to centre. You can feel that love grow inside you which completely alters your energy and the neurons in the brain.
You are creating your life with intention and the best way to do that is to keep finding your centre, you're inner compass.
